As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:
whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God;
whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies
—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.
(1 Pet. 4:10-11)
The Lord has given us a great desire to serve his body with the teaching gifts with which He has blessed us. In addition to doing this in the context of our own respective churches and communities, Lord over Life ministries offers us several venues, in addition to this website, where we are able to serve the body of Christ through teaching His Word. Among those are pulpit supply, Bible conferences, and moderated debates.
There are some times when, for one reason or another (often when a church is in search of a pastor), there is a need for a qualified Bible teacher/preacher to come in (from the outside) to a local church and assist in opening the Scriptures to the congregation from the pulpit. When those needs arise in churches we are happy to be used by God to fill in as pulpit supply. If this is something your church would be interested in, please contact us and let us know your need.
Often a good way to have your congregation receive concentrated Bible or theological training in a short period of time is through Bible Conferences. Depending on your church body's need in Bible or theology training please contact us, and we would be happy to assist in any way we can. We would be especially delighted to hold a Bible conference at your local assembly on the following topics:
- Biblical Theology/Systematic Theology
- God and Government
- Christian Education
- The Christian Life
Healthy, godly debate can be a great gift to the church as God's people seek to determine through the guidance of the Holy Spirit what God's Word actually says on a certain topic. We would be especially excited to have some healthy interchange on many hot-topic resolutions, including but not limited to:
- Does God Exist? (obviously, that would be with an unbeliever)
- Are the Old Testament Civil Laws Binding/Applicable Today?
- Is State Education Biblical?
- Can You be a Christian and "Pro-Choice"?
- Is Gun Ownership a Biblical Right?
If you're unsure about the purpose of debate within the church, we encourage you to read the following article here. If you think your church could benefit from a healthy debate, please contact us and let us know how we can help.
